Our charity Lewes Textile Design Museum & Workshops was registered in December 2023. We exsist to create a space on Lewes High St where the making behind the shops on the street over the last several centuries are open for people to learn what is takes to make the high st bloom and at the same time the sustianability of local fashion brands that come and go. We will show the textiles tenants of one of the oldest shops in the UK - from 1662, 1780's, 1920's, 1970's .
Our commitment to public education means we are already offering mending workshops to local school children and have a plan to add more workshops over time.
Fundraising for the renovation of the historic building, is just beginning.
